I was in Dallas from Sunday afternoon through Thursday morning, and I had a great visit with my family. My grandma, and all my aunts and uncles on my mom's side live there, and I spent my days driving back and forth between relative's houses, hanging out with my cousins and aunts and uncles, and having a great time.
My cousin had a baby girl recently, and I met her for the first time. She is award winning in her chubby littleness, and she makes an excellent addition to the family. Her mother is Cambodian, and the anklets that the baby wears are from her mother, who wore them herself when she was a baby. She's got a powerful set of lungs, a disarming smile, and a Facebook account. She's got it all figured out!
It was also my cousin Nico's birthday. Emily and I got him gourmet cake pops from a place called Amazeballz, which was in downtown Plano. He didn't seem to be thrilled to be getting cake, as he is training for soccer season. Oh well. His metabolism will burn through them pretty quickly.
At the moment I'm in the band car headed home to Ohio. I have about twenty to twenty-four hours left of car time before I can sink into bed and see Josh. I love Texas, but it sure is far from where I want and need to be! Everyone in the car has been sick on this trip, is currently sick, or just starting to get sick. That's the joy of close quarters...
